In the era of climate change,
we all live at the shore.

As an island resident of Casco Bay, Maine, I am intensely aware of evolving conditions in, and near, our intertidal zones. My current work interprets biological materials that live between (or near) the high and low tide lines that separates ocean from land. Not only do I draw-from biological life, but I draw-in these materials in their natural state: marine algae (seaweeds), as well as shells, lichens, barks, and leaves. Natural materials, or drawings of them, are frequently combined with more conventional art materials including ink-stained papers, ink-washed mylar, threads and found objects.
